Introducing....

Brian Wayne Higginbotham!!! Ben and I got to see our cute baby boy today for our first ultrasound! Everything looks great and is looking like he's right on schedule for his due date: September 12, 2009. We were pretty sure it was going to be a girl, but he proved us wrong. :o) Here are two pictures we got from the ultrasound. One is of his profile, the other is the front of his face. We also went shopping tonight and got two cute little outfits, and of course, a Star Wars t-shirt and toy, picked out by Ben. ;o)

Happy Annivesary!!

Ben and I celebrated our first anniversary on April 4th. I can't believe it's been a year already! It's been a really good year. The weather was actually warm and sunny on our anniversary, which was a nice change from the winter weather we've been having still. We took a drive out to Snoqualmie Falls and were going to go to dinner at the new casino there since I had heard the restaurant was really nice and the food was good. Well, they make you walk all the way through the smoke-filled casino past all the people wasting their money, then when we got to the restaurant it didn't look that nice for what they were charging, plus we were grossed out by all the smoke smell that we decided to leave. We did stop at the Falls to look at it and it was very pretty, though we didn't have our camera with us. We enjoyed the drive to and from the Falls since it was so sunny, so we weren't too upset that we didn't end up having dinner there. We decided to go to a Japanese Steakhouse instead, which was really good and always fun to watch them cook in front of you and do all their tricks. Then we came home and attempted to eat the top tier of our wedding cake that's been in my parent's freezer for a year. It turns out cake doesn't taste good after it's been in the freezer for so long. The frosting was freezer burned and the cake tasted ok, but was very crumbly and the texture was wierd. So, we each took a bite for the camera then threw the rest away. A big waste, but it's all part of the tradition, I guess. :o) Here's some pictures of our cake experience. Don't mind the self shot at the end- those never turn out good at that angle!
